We didn't quite get through all our favourites at our 40th anniversary Gala...so we thought it was only fitting to have a second celebratory concert! Featuring a selection of a few more of our favourites from the past 40 years, our gold-winning World Choir Games pieces, and two new works commissioned for our 40th Anniversary, a raffle and an afternoon tea, May You Always Have A Song will be a fantastic afternoon of community and music making. Chime wins Gold at the World Choir Games!
Chime Choir has returned home from Auckland after its successful World Choir Games campaign, securing Gold in the Open Mixed Chamber Choirs and Silver in the Open Sacred Choral Music with Accompaniment categories. To everyone's delight, Chime placed overall second in the Mixed Chamber Choirs category, missing the top score by .31 - the only Australian choir to achieve this ranking in the Open chamber choirs category, cementing the choir’s reputation for excellence in performance, and ensuring that Chime is able to return to the next World Choir Games as champion competitors. Thank you for your support as we toured to New Zealand - the Games were incredible and we can't wait to go back!
Introducing: Rosa Hwang, Principal Accompanist
We're so excited to share with you some great news - we have a new principal accompanist, Rosa Hwang.
Rosa has a Bachelor of Music from Monash University and a Licentiate Diploma in piano. She is currently an accompanist at Wesley College (Glen Waverley), Kilbreda College, Bendigo Chorale and The Australian Ballet School. Previously, she has accompanied the Monash University Choral Society and the Yarra Valley Singers, and also taught piano at Chairo Christian School (Pakenham).
She enjoys playing a variety of music genres, and has recently freelanced as a pit orchestra musician for Australasian Orchestra, Lyric Opera, "Schools on Stage" and school musical productions. For a number of years Rosa worked with students to prepare them for AMEB, VCE and university exams, and she also regularly performs with flautist Kelsy De Prada for recitals and fundraising concerts.
Rosa loves helping choirs, ensembles and students create a wonderful, confident and unified sound through constant learning and building relationships. She hopes to be an asset to Chime's long history of excellent choral singing, and is looking forward to their 40th Anniversary celebrations and participation in the World Choir Games in New Zealand this year!

It's 2024 - we're turning 40! Like everyone turning 40, we will be celebrating throughout the year, with a number of events, concerts, and an overseas tour to the World Choir Games.
