History
Chime Choir photograph In 1984, Mr. Kevin Casey realized a dream to establish a National Girls Choir. This was modelled on the highly successful National Boys Choir, a group which he had commenced some twenty years earlier. Kevin became Music Director and together with help from a very well qualified staff both groups flourished. It soon became apparent that there was a need to give the young adults who had finished their time with these groups an opportunity to continue singing in later life.

1987 saw the birth of CHIME, Choral Institute Melbourne. Kevin Casey at that stage passed the directorship of the National Boys Choir to his son Peter and dedicated his time and efforts to the newly formed group. Kevin retired in 2002 and passed the reins of artistic director to Jayne Turner.

Today CHIME consists of the senior choir; an SATB choir of young to young at heart members, the Australian Christmas Choir, and a touring choir; formed for an overseas event.

A non-profit and non-denominational organisation fostering the love of music.
